![]() ![]() ![]() Things may change further into the game but for now I’m supremely disappointed. awful! What was once freedom in teleportation choice has been replaced with set ledges and areas and… to me… that just ain’t right. I’ve played a good 4 hours already and already found my creativity limited which… sounds pretentious… but it’s what made the first game so good! The Combat system, to me, is a welcome addition but I feel that the removal of the core mechanic of the first game is just…. Upon hearing there was going to be a second game I forced myself not to look at any promotional content so that I left everything surprise and… well… i’m definitely surprised!Īt the moment I’m in utter shock and awe that they removed the one thing that made the first game unique! What made the first game so good was the fact that every single ability in tandem with the shadow jumping were useful.Īragami 1 was truly a game about the player’s creativity and planning. After playing with friends even became apparent that playstyles were a thing choosing your favourite abilities in conjunction with the teleportation mechanics. The point is the feeling of slowly becoming a true shadow ninja was amazing!! The shadow system forced you to plan and become better at being “one with the shadows”. Nenshos Plan Level 23: Forgiveness Level 24: Aragami Soul 1 Level 25: Aragami Soul 2 Level 26: Aragami Soul 3 Level 27: Family 1 Level 28: Family 2 Level 29: Family 3 Level 30: Family 4 Level 31: Family 5 Level. By the end of my time playing I knew exactly how much energy I had at my disposal and countless devious ways to use it and, in understanding more, you then improve your ability to traverse the stages and deal with enemies. It created a sense of progression and skill! I remember when I started playing I was only casting shadows on the floor or to help me get up ledges. It created countless unique game experiences. It hooked me in with how creative you could be in terms of traversal, stealth and kills. Having the ability to teleport into any shadow as well as create your own shadows was, to me, what made Aragami what it is. I literally played it to death! The reason I played it to death was one mechanic in particular… THE SHADOW SYSTEM!! I only brag like this because I think it important to show how much I loved the first game. Doing that for both the main game and Nightfall was one of the best gaming experiences I’ve ever had! Basically, I absolutely ADORE the game and it’s in my top 10 games ever made. You will traverse 10 semi-open world areas these are separated by interconnecting portals to your base. I even challenged myself by getting every Oni medal on the hardest difficulty without ever alerting anyone, not even suspicion. Aragami 2 is a Third Person Adventure/Stealth game, but clearly the developers wanted to add more action to the adventure enjoyed in Aragami, this is evidenced with the inclusion of such clichés as parries and critical attacks in sword fights. Bear with me as I brag a bit… I’ve 100% the entire game solo on the hardest difficulty for both the main game AND Nightfall obtaining every scroll and every Yurei, Kami and Oni medal. I absolutely ADORE the first game and have played through it countless times. Before I say anything I’m gonna say my background with Aragami.
